Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 6–10 am. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. My husband and I love to dine here! It’s a little hidden gem. The food is always amazing, highly recommend the Rigatoni dish! We had dinner here the other night and had the most amazing server, Mitch, who is also the manager. If you’re trying to find a good place for dinner, this is the spot!

Had dinner at Mercato Mio tonight and have to say that it was really great! Food was spectacular. Our waitress was amazing. Wasn't crowded at 8 o'clock on a Saturday. Definitely will go back! Not a lot of italian places I would recommend in the state college area but this one is the best I have had around here for sure!

We ate here on a Saturday night, and as we walked into the Hilton Garden Inn, the lobby area was being refurbished, which I think is normally where the restaurant is located? Instead, we were directed to a converted private room/banquet space. We arrived around 6:10 and there was only one other guest In the space. The space was definitely lacking in any real atmosphere with vacuums, and make-shift service areas. Our server was mostly attentive, but it seems as if restaurant staff was embarrassed by the setting as there was rarely any staffer around. I could forgive the location given the renovations, if the food was stellar. Sadly, the food was lacking too. The antipasto was fine. My wife and daughter had the spaghetti and meatballs and the sauce was overly sweet. I had the gnocchi and grilled chicken. It was ok at best? Not sure who thought it was a good idea to have the gnocchi swimming in a bowl of cheese sauce? It was way too heavy. We overheard another couple who came in while we were there who had to send back their lasagna dish because it was not cooked through. I would avoid this place for now.

The Gnocchi Florentine, Lasagna and Mushroom Risotto were all fabulous!!! The roast carrots with whipped ricotta and pistachios was perfectly sweet and savory. The focaccia had the right amount of garlic. I recommend the tiramisu, as it was a fabulous finish; my sister loved her cannoli too. My margarita was also a nice opener for dinner. Jennifer, the real star, was our waitress, she was friendly, conversed with us and interacted with our children in such a refreshing way! You could tell she enjoys what she does and experiencing life through food! We will be back for sure and recommend Mercato Mio to friends!!

food, service, atmosphere, pricing, everything was great! me and my dad came here, and we ordered the alfredo mac n cheese and the lasagna. it was really good, the mac n cheese was super cheesy, and the lasagna was unique and flavorful! our waitress was phenomenal, and the decor and overall look of the place is comforting but classy. we will be coming back ! :)
